Event Notes: Form Function & Class Web Design Conference 2011

Last September 10-11, 2011,the Mozilla Philippines Community supported the Philippine Web Designers Organization‘s flagship event– the <form>, function(), & .class(FFC) Web Design Conference. The Mozilla Reps program was kind enough to send a huge box full of Mozilla swag as giveaways to the events attendees (as seen in this blog post). Are You Using Mozilla Firefox 6 Already?

If you don’t know that Mozilla Firefox 6 is out, then you should scoot on over to the download site and get this spiffy new release. I’m sure some folks are wondering how Firefox, from version 3.6 at the start in 2011, almost doubles its version number in less than a year. Meet-up with Mozilla’s William Quiviger

Good news! Mozilla’s William Quiviger will be in Manila and there’s going to be a meet-up with him on August 26, 2011 (Friday) at 6:30pm. The venue is still TBA, but it’s most likely going to be in the Makati area. The venue will be at the UP-Ayala TechnoHub in Quezon City. Web FWD by Mozilla

Mozilla recently launched a new innovation initiative– Web FWD (“Web Forward”). According to the blog post about the launch, Web FWD will provide a space at Mozilla where hackers and innovators can build their products. There will be a workshop environment where “bold ideas can be realized and bare-bones prototypes can develop and go forward as products.” This platform will hopefully foster innovation for the Open Web.
