Firefox Developer Edition Now Available in Tagalog

After years of translation activities, and switch to several platforms and tools, we are happy to announce the availability of the localized version of Firefox Developer Edition in Tagalog! This version (in Tagalog/Filipino) is not yet final. We are still in the process of completing the translation of the entire software to Tagalog/Filipino. Goodbye, Pootle. Mabuhay, Pontoon!

For years now, Mozilla‘s localization efforts had been using Pootle as the Community Localization Server. MozillaPH L10n has been religiously submitting translation suggestions and commits through the Mozilla Translation website powered by Pootle until two (02) days ago. Introducing the MozillaPH L10n Style Guide

Style guides define the standard against which we determine a translation’s quality. They contain rules that are both defined by Mozilla and by Mozilla’s localization communities on how to best translate text in Mozilla products, websites, and other projects. Style guides are used to both translate and evaluate a translation’s quality. WANTED: L10n Dev Volunteers for Project ATOMPH

A delegation of Mozilla Reps (ReMo) from the Mozilla Philippines Community participated in the Asian Localization Hackathon in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last weekend. The event provided venue for L10n (Localization) teams from across the continent to set goals and work on solutions in bringing more contributors to their communities.
