What’s the difference between Firefox OS and Android?

  • Firefox OS is a new open operating system for smartphones built entirely using HTML5 and other Web Standards. Firefox OS is free from the rules and restrictions of existing proprietary platforms, not like other native apps, which are restricted by specific platforms.
  • With this flexibility, Firefox OS allows partners (including mobile providers, manufacturers, and developers) to build additional services that meet the needs of their customers regionally and individually.
