Mozilla Firefox Beta 7 is Fast, Fast, Fast

Mozilla launched the 7th release of the beta version of Firefox last week and the response of everyone who used it is the same: it’s very fast.

According to the Mozilla blog, the latest release features a new Javascript engine and graphics enhancements. To quote:

A new release of Firefox 4 Beta is now ready for you to download and test! This release boosts performance in some important ways: it adds the JägerMonkey just-in-time (JIT) JavaScript compiler; adds more support for hardware-accelerated graphics, as well as hardware acceleration for Windows XP and Mac OS X; and enables 3D capabilities, without the need for plug-ins, with WebGL.

I’ve tried the new beta and it’s really faster. You can feel how fast it loads up and the rendering of pages is much, much quicker. Here are some of the benchmarks of the performance of the new beta, relative to the current versions of Firefox:

I think folks who want speed in a browser should definitely check out the new version of the Firefox beta.
