The Mozilla Philippines Community held its very first HTML5 & Firefox OS (B2G) Roadshow at the Valero Telepark, Makati City earlier tonight.

Invited to the event were members of the media (TV, radio, print, & online – bloggers), IT Professionals, and friends of the Mozilla Philippines Community from the academe. The roadshow shocases what the activities and efforts of Mozilla are in the Philippines; HTML5 technology; and the upcoming Firefox OS (formerly known as Boot to Gecko or B2G).

Introducing the Mozilla Firefox Mobile OS

We at the Mozilla Philippines Community are both happy and excited with Mozilla’s confirmation that the Boot to Gecko (B2G) Project will carry the Firefox Mobile OS brand. The Firefox Mobile OS is a new fully open mobile ecosystem based on HTML5. The Mozilla Philippines Community has just received the Philippines’ very first Boot to Gecko (B2G) device over the weekend. Boot to Gecko (B2G) is created based on the belief of Mozilla that the web can displace proprietary, single-vendor stacks for application development. B2G’s goal is to build a complete, standalone operating system for the open web.
