Last Aug. 15, the Mozilla Philippines Community held a MozTour for around 200 students of Far Eastern University- Diliman Campus. It was the community’s first time to hold an event at this school! This event was organized by the Society of Information Technology of FEU Diliman.
With me are Mozilla Rep Marcus Ang, FSAs Ced Aquino and JC Marquez, at the event to represent the MozillaPH Community.
Students started registering for the event 30 mins before the start of the program and they were given swags!
The event started with the opening ceremonies, which includes an opening remarks by the SIT- FEU Diliman VP for External Affairs, Miguel Angeles.
Thanks to these two energetic hosts for assisting us onstage!
I started off with an introduction about Mozilla, our mission, products and community.
Next was FSA JC Marquez from STI Marikina, who talked about the Firefox Student Ambassadors program.
The audience was very active on answering and asking questions! We were giving out prizes to the attendees who answer correctly or stood up to ask.
I then went to the stage again to talk about Mozilla’s Learning Initiatives.
Finally, Mozilla Rep Marcus Ang talked about Firefox OS and the Firefox dev tools.
There was a huge interest on Firefox OS, perhaps especially as these students will be working on their thesis soon. Firefox OS indeed piqued their curiosity!
