MozillaPH Call for NPC Guidelines Public Inputs: CCTV Systems

The National Privacy Commission (NPC) is currently seeking inputs on the experiences, issues, and concerns of Filipinos related to the Use of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) Systems. The NPC has previously issued Advisory No. 2020-04 (Guidelines on the Use of CCTV Systems), which provided guidelines to all Personal Information Controllers (PICs) and Personal Information Processors (PIPs) on the use of such systems in public and semi-public areas.

The NPC sees a need to provide for an updated policy framework on the use of CCTV systems to ensure that such systems shall be used in a fair, transparent, proportional, legitimate, and accountable manner while upholding data subjects’ rights and freedoms as the technology continues to evolve.

As a community, MozillaPH will be submitting our comments and recommendations to the NPC related to the above. We want the voices of MozillaPH community members to be heard and make themselves part of this.

This online form below will be closed on 2100H of Thursday, 31 May 2023 (GMT+8). Submit your inputs now. For questions and concerns, please feel free to reach out via email to info@mozillaphilippines.org.

Maraming salamat po!
