Mitchell Baker Appointed Permanent CEO of Mozilla

The Mozilla Philippines Community (MozillaPH) extends its warmest congratulations to Mitchell Baker on her appointment as permanent Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mozilla Corporation.

Mitchell has assumed the role of CEO since August 2019, around the same time when the Mozilla Corporation Board began its search for a worthy replacement to Chris Beard. Subsequently, Mitchell became the organization’s Interim CEO in December 2019.

Mitchell Baker co-founded the Mozilla Project to support the open, innovative web and ensure it continues offering opportunities for everyone. As CEO of Mozilla Corporation, Mitchell is focused on accelerating the growth levers for the core Firefox browser product and platform, while investing in innovative solutions to mitigate the biggest challenges facing the internet.

MozillaPH concurs with the Mozilla Corporation Board’s decision in selecting Mitchell as the permanent CEO. Truly, they are right in saying that “balance of urgency, transparency, and empathy, coupled with an innate knowledge of Mozilla, along with connections into the communities that are influencing the trajectory of the internet make Mitchell the right person to lead Mozilla today.”

We wish Mitchell every success in her new duties and we assure her of the Mozilla Philippines Community’s full support in making an impact into the future.

Mabuhay, Mitchell Baker!
